Hopeful Hearts: Nurturing the Caregiver’s Soul Through Life’s Ups and Downs

Today I am bringing you something different on my blog. I wanted to take a break from the parent posts and give everyone a gift of a wonderful resource. His name is Peter Rosenberger, and my friend Kathy Harris asked if I wanted to be a guest on his broadcast on American Family Radio. I quickly said yes, of course, and was honored to be interviewed. So, on September 25th, my interview was published on hopeforthecaregiver.libsy.com. This man is an amazing person and, as he says, speaks fluent caregiver, as he has traveled the path of the family caregiver for over 30 years for his wife, Gracie, who has had over 85 major surgeries, including her double below-the-knee amputation. Along the path of this journey, Peter discovered the caregiver can not only survive but thrive. With humor, practical knowledge, and compassion,  Peter can give you tips to avoid the 3 I’s- loss of Independence, the feeling of Isolation, and Loss of Identity as a caregiver.

Peter has many different resources for you, as the caregiver, whether you are the parent of a child with special needs, a teacher, or a person who is now the caregiver of a family member. His website is https://hopeforthecaregiver.com. The books he has written include “A Minute for Caregivers When Every Day Feels Like Monday”, “Hope for the Caregiver Encouraging Words to Strengthen Your Spirit”, and “7 Caregiver Landmines”.  His weekly broadcast is found on afr.net, and there you can listen to many stories to strengthen fellow caregivers.

Thank you to everyone who has been reading my blog posts. My idea has always been to provide a connection to a larger community, find common bonds, and give people a sense of hope and inspiration. My hope for you is that you find these words helpful and that Peter Rosenberger is an inspiration for you as a caregiver. May your days be Merry and Bright! I wish you peace, love, and happiness.
